Dr. Ahmedin M. Ahmed is currently the Head of Urban & Infrastrucutre Bureau as well as Coordinator of Urban Development Cluster (with the rank of Vice President) in Amhara Region, Ethiopia. Prior, he served his country Ethiopia with higher government positions such as State Minister at Ministry of National Defence (Oct 2021 to Aug 2023), State Minister at Ministry of Innovation & Technology (June 2019 to Sept 2021). In addition, he is taking assignments in a number of governmental, political and public roles such as board of directors, committees, etc. Dr. Ahmedin has received his PhD degree from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, PRC in 2014, the Master's degree in Software Engineering from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, in 2011, and the B.S. degree in Computer Science from Bahirdar University, Bahirdar, Ethiopia, in 2006. In 2018, as YALI fellow he obtained a Diploma in Public Managment from Florida International University, Miami, Florida, USA. He authored/co-authored 25+ research papers in International reputable journals and conferences. He also co-authored one book chapter in his research area. In addition to the publications, he serves as invited reviewer for a number reputable and journals and conferences. He contributed to the academia by mentoring and advising Masters level students in Ethiopian Universities such as Jimma University, Gondar University, etc. He also co-advised PhD candidates in Etho-France and Ethio-German Sandwich programs. His research interests include smart cities, IT infrastructure, mobile and social computing, algorithm design, software engineering, IoTs, big data, artificial intelligence, cyber security and ERP. Dr. Ahmedin is a certified project manager (PMP) and ITIL-F certified professional. He is an active Member of IEEE since 2013.

	[03/2022] Dr. Ahmedin has been elected as Ethiopia's ruling Prosperity Party Central Committee (CC) Member at the first congress of the party.
	[10/2021] Dr. Ahmedin has been appointed as State Minister at the Ministry of National Defence by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed.
	[02/2019] Dr. Ahmedin has been appointed as State Minister at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed.
	[04/2019] Ethiopia Innovate Week 2019! Ethiopia Innovate Week 2019 to be held from June 6 - June 12, 2019 at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. MinT is organizing this Ethiopia's largest and most extensive week with ICT Expo, Startup Ethiopia, IAD Summit and National STI Award.

	[04/2018] Dr. Ahmedin has been selected to participate on the 2018 Mandella Washington Fellowship (a flagship program of YALI) and placed at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, USA from June 20-August 20, 2018.
	[05/2017] Dr. Ahmedin became a Professional Member of the Project Management Institute.
	[06/2016] Dr. Ahmedin has been appointed as Scientific Director of Kombolcha Institute of Technology (with the rank of Vice President for Wollo University) on a proposal from the President, Dr. Abate Getahun, and following a decision by the Administrative Board of the University.
	[01/2015] Dr. Ahmedin reinstated at Wollo University to begin his academic tenure and propoted to Assistant Professor of Computing.
